Abbey Saddlery to sponsor BETA International 2010
Leading British wholesaler Abbey Saddlery & Crafts is to continue as main sponsor of BETA International up to and including 2010.
The announcement marks Abbey’s third consecutive year as the three-day trade exhibition’s principal commercial supporter.
Abbey holds a Royal Warrant from HM The Queen for the supply of saddlery workshop materials to the Royal Mews. The family run company, with premises in Walsall and Cheshire, has exhibited at every annual BETA International in its 27 year history.
"We’re really pleased to be maintaining our special association with BETA International which we believe to be the premier equestrian trade event in the world," said Peter Phillips of Abbey.
"Abbey operates at the hub of the equestrian trade, serving the small British workshop right through to major global players – the very industry that BETA International also represents."
Abbey supplies British-made workshop tools, accessories and materials, including leathers, textiles, webbings and metal work, to saddlers, harness and rug makers as well as large scale manufacturers in the equestrian, fashion, motoring and refrigeration industries.
An unrivalled range of Abbey bits numbers 350 styles, with the company’s ability to supply hard-to-find and unusual models something of a speciality.
Last year, Abbey acquired Liston Locks and Coach & Fridge from FH Tompkins (Buckle) Co with the workforce subsequently moving to Abbey’s Walsall factory. "We are determined to work to keep manufacturing alive in the UK," added Peter Phillips.
Abbey also distributes the Hilary Vernon bit collection, Pro-Equine boots, the Fiebing range of show ring products, Grangers waterproofing preparations, Blue Kool and Stubbs.
"Abbey epitomises the equestrian trade’s proud tradition of combining personal service with the supply of innovative products to benefit both retailers and manufacturers," said Claire Thomas, commercial manager of BETA International organiser EMC.
"It will be a pleasure to continue through to 2010 the productive working relationship that BETA International enjoys with Abbey as its main sponsor."
At BETA International 2009, Abbey will be running a business card prize draw, open to all visitors, for £500 worth of prizes per day. Show offers on Pro-Equine boots and Fiebing products will also be available on its stand.
BETA International 2009 takes place on 15-17 February at the NEC, Birmingham, UK. Organiser Equestrian Management Consultants (EMC) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the BETA Group. BETA International 2010 will be held on 21-23 February at the same venue.
